Gutters & drainage
Water off the roof, away from the house.
Seamless gutters formed on site to the exact length of your house, hung at the right pitch, with downspouts that put the water where it can’t hurt anything. Good drainage is most of what keeps a house dry.
Why it matters
Your foundation is the most expensive thing to fix.
Every inch of rain or snowmelt on a typical roof is hundreds of gallons of water. Without gutters that work, it pours off the edge, splashes back onto the siding, rots the fascia, and soaks the ground right next to the foundation.
Much of the Colorado Springs area sits on expansive clay soils that swell when they get wet and shrink when they dry. Water pooling against the foundation is how cracked slabs, heaving floors, and wet basements start. The whole job of a gutter system is to catch that water and carry it well away from the house.
How we build them
Formed on site, sized for your roof.
- Seamless, formed on site
- We run the gutter through our forming machine in your driveway, cut to the exact length of each run. No seams along the length means no seams to leak.
- 5" or 6" gutters
- 5" K-style handles most houses. 6" for big or steep roofs, long runs, and valleys that dump a lot of water in one place.
- 2×3 or 3×4 downspouts
- 3×4 downspouts move roughly twice the water of 2×3 and clog less. We size them to the roof area each one drains.
- Any color
- Matched to your trim, your siding, or your roof. If it exists in a color chart, we can get it.
- Away from the foundation
- Extensions, splash blocks, or buried drain lines, so the water lands well clear of the house.
And after
Keep them working.
Leaf covers
Guards that keep leaves, needles, and seed pods out while letting water in. Fewer clogs, fewer ladder days.
Maintenance plans
Regular cleaning and inspection on a schedule: we clear the gutters and downspouts, check the pitch and fasteners, and catch problems early.
Questions
What people ask us.
What does “seamless” actually mean?
Each run of gutter is formed from one continuous piece of aluminum, made on site to the exact length of that side of the house. Seams only appear at the corners, which is where they belong.
5" or 6"?
It depends on how much roof drains into each run and how steep it is. Most houses do fine with 5"; large roofs, steep pitches, and valleys usually need 6". We will measure and recommend.
Do I need leaf covers?
If you have trees near the house, they usually pay for themselves in fewer clogs and less overflow. If you don’t, regular cleaning may be all you need.
How far from the house should downspouts discharge?
Several feet at a minimum, and farther on clay soils or where the ground slopes toward the house. We look at the grade around your foundation and extend or bury the outlets as needed.
What is included in a maintenance plan?
Scheduled visits to clean the gutters and downspouts, check the pitch and hangers, and look for anything that needs attention before it causes damage. We will set the schedule with you based on your trees and roof.
